Westchester is putting on a show

There shouldn’t be doubts about Westchester being ready to defend its City Section Division I championship in boys’ basketball. The Comets sent a loud message in the first quarter of their semifinal game against Washington.

They ran off 20 consecutive points at the outset of the game to take a 25-2 lead and settled for a 29-5 advantage after the first quarter at the Galen Center.

Denzel Douglas led a balanced attack with seven points for the top-seeded Comets (25-3).
