La Puente Bishop Amat (3-0) advanced to the semifinals of the Newport Elks tournament with a 7-2 victory over Santa Ana Mater Dei that featured three home runs and five RBIs from Bernardo Zavala.
Brandon McNitt struck out seven in six innings for the Lancers.
Los Angeles Cathedral improved to 2-0 with a 16-5 win over South East. Joseph Gonzales went four for four. Oscar Leong, Kyle Merrill and Brian Orozco all had three hits each.
