Baseball: Beware of Granada Hills Kennedy

The City Section baseball favorite remains Chatsworth, but I’m beginning to like Granada Hills Kennedy, especially because the Golden Cougars might have found an ace pitcher in Lenny Diaz, who shut out Canyon Country Canyon last week after pitching well against No. 2 Encino Crespi.

If Kennedy has pitching success, then the Golden Cougars should be able to win the Valley Mission League. And they already own a win over West Valley League power Woodland Hills El Camino Real. Kennedy gets to face Chatsworth on Wednesday in a 6 p.m. nonleague game at USC. It should be important for playoff seeding purposes.
