Los Angeles Crenshaw, the reigning City Section Division I champion in football, is set to open its 2010 season on Sept. 3 in Suwanee, Ga., against North Gwinnett High School, which is located in a suburb of Atlanta.

‘What am I getting myself in?’ North Gwinnett Coach Bob Sphire said.

North Gwinnett went 12-1 last season but loses lots of top players. Sphire already knows that Crenshaw returns one of the top players in the country in running back De’Anthony Thomas.

Crenshaw also has scheduled games against Norco, Riverside North and Culver City, but the Cougars have an opening for week two. Crenshaw Coach Robert Garrett has been unable to find an opponent and is starting to ask, ‘Is everybody scared?’
