Football: Mater Dei receiver gets USC offer

USC has come forward to offer a scholarship to Santa Ana Mater Dei receiver Victor Blackwell, adding to the intrigue on his recruiting.

The Trojans already have a commitment from Mater Dei quarterback Max Wittek. Mater Dei Coach Bruce Rollinson said Monday night that Blackwell has not committed to the Trojans despite a report by USCFootball.com quoting Blackwell that he has committed.

Blackwell was considered a top target of UCLA.

UPDATE: Rollinson said Tuesday morning he spoke with Blackwell’s father and Blackwell has committed to USC.
