It took 26 rounds, but Santa Ana Mater Dei pitcher-outfielder Cory Hahn was finally drafted by the San Diego Padres as the No. 784 pick overall.

He has signed with Arizona State and had the best individual season of any player in Southern California, going 14-1 on the mound and hitting 10 home runs in leading the Monarchs to the Southern Section Division 1 title.
