The 10-team Marmonte League in football keeps looking better and better with each summer passing competition.Thousand Oaks seems ready to join the elite teams after winning its second seven-on-seven title of the summer, beating Mission Hills Alemany on Wednesday in the College of the Canyons tournament final.

Led by quarterback Avondre Bollar and receiver Richard Mullaney, the Lancers knocked off Westlake Village Westlake in the semifinals. It was the second time in as many weeks that Thousand Oaks has beaten Westlake, which played without standout receiver Nelson Spruce.

‘I think Thousand Oaks is as good if not better than Westlake,’ Newhall Hart Coach Mike Herrington said.

Thousand Oaks and Westlake are set to open Marmonte League play in the second game of the season this fall.
