Baseball: Nearly 100 comments and counting on Reitz

I want to salute all those people who have courageously stepped forward to offer a comment about the resignation of Agoura Coach Dennis Reitz. At last count, there were 94 responses. Let’s get to 100!

My favorite comment so far was the person who wrote that this could be a reality TV show, ‘My kid will play or I’ll get the coach fired.’

Obviously, Reitz’s decision to say some parents were ‘out of control’ didn’t go over well. But people apparently didn’t read closely what he was saying. He was offering a peace gesture, saying, ‘We aren’t the enemy,’ referring to the coach of a team.

Life will go on. Agoura will find a new coach. Reitz will do just fine at Ventura College. And angry Little League-like parents will continue to surface. At least it’s great entertainment for summer time.
