USC’s new offensive coordinator, Kennedy Pola, knows Southern California well. He played at Santa Ana Mater Dei and he served as an assistant coach under Bill Redell at Encino Crespi from 1986-88. He also was an assistant under Jim Benkert at Westlake Village Westlake for three years.

Those are great recruiting ties for the Trojans.

‘He was a fabulous coach, great with players and a hard worker,’ Redell said. ‘I was always impressed with him.’
