Baseball: Ocean View wins SoCal Little League title

Ocean View Little League (Huntington Beach) won the Southern California Little League Championship this evening, and will move on to the West Regional Tournament starting Friday in San Bernardino. Ocean View won the opening game of the best-two-of-three championship series Saturday by an 8-6 count over El Segundo, but El Segundo evened the series with a 1-0 seven-inning, walkoff win Sunday. That forced a deciding game this evening, and Ocean View won 10-0 to earn its ticket to San Bernardino.

West Regional play begins Friday evening, as OVLL takes on Las Vegas Mountain Ridge at 8 p.m.. Pool play continues through August 11, with the semifinals (August 13) and championship (August 15) slated for live coverage on ESPN2. The tournament winner advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
