Crenshaw leads North Gwinnett, 12-7, at end of first quarter

Thanks to the efforts of star running back De’Anthony Thomas, Crenshaw leads Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett, 12-7, heading into the second quarter.

Thomas scored on a 59-yard touchdown run on the Cougars’ first possession before scoring again late in the first quarter on a 27-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Marquis Thompson.

Thomas ended the first quarter with 113 yards rushing in five carries. North Gwinnett has 53 yards of total offense.

Unfortunately, the Cougars have missed both of their extra-point attempts.

North Gwinnett sliced through the Crenshaw defense on its first possession to score, but the Cougars forced them to punt toward the end of the first quarter.

The game is being televised live on ESPNU.
