Football: The heat is on at Oaks Christian

They do things a little differently at Oaks Christian, where they just introduced the ‘rostered’ players over the public address system prior to the Lions’ opener against Alemany. Never heard that one before.

They also don’t have room for the largest newspaper in California in the ‘press box,’ a term that is becoming more of a misnomer each year with the proliferation of Internet sites and television stations dedicated to high school football.

There is some good news: Temperatures are beginning to cool from the triple-digit readings here earlier in the day. Alemany’s junior varsity team was positively scorching during a 37-7 victory over Oaks Christian. Could be some karma coming back around.
