Football: Servite rolls to 48-7 win over Kennedy

Anaheim Servite did exactly what it should’ve done against an overmatched opponent: dominate.

Cody Pittman threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 70 yards and another score as the Friars, ranked third in the Southland by The Times, routed host Kennedy of Granada Hills, 48-7, in tonight’s intersectional contest.

Sean Derosa rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown and reserve running back Jeremiah Leuta-douyere added 52 yards and a touchdown. Malik Felton had five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown and Robert Abeyta had a 20-yard touchdown reception and broke several long punt returns for Servite (2-0).

Jonathan Williams had quite a season opener for Kennedy, finishing with 64 yards rushing in 20 carries and scoring his team’s lone touchdown on a five-yard run up the middle early in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Nate Raymundo set up the score by scooping up a teammate’s fumble and sprinting 70 yards up the sideline.

Kennedy quarterback Anthony Chavez was pressured all game, completing two of 10 throws for 22 yards and one interception.
