Seeking a spark, Loyola turned to quarterback Jerry Neuheisel on its first drive of the fourth quarter.

It didn’t exactly turn out as hoped.

Neuheisel, replaced as the starter by Ryan Develle, had his first pass intercepted and returned for a 28-yard touchdown by Mission Viejo’s Doug Ruggles to give the Diablos a 42-0 lead with 8 minutes 27 seconds left in a game that can’t end fast enough for Cubs fans.

Loyola will drop to 0-4 against Mission Viejo in the otherwise storied history of its program and should consider never scheduling the Diablos again.

The highlight of the game for Loyola has been three punts of at least 50 yards for kicker Conrad Ukropina.
