The City Section Division I and II playoffs in baseball will expand to allow 20 teams each in the post season, including four wild-card games, in a proposal that was presented to the City Section Interscholastic Committee on Monday.

Last season, there was a Division III playoffs, but that division will be eliminated under the proposal, replaced by a new mandated small schools division.

There would be 29 Division I schools and 30 in Division II.

IAC is expected to give its approval at the next meeting in October.

Also, moving to Division I from Division II are Westchester, Venice, Monroe, Hamilton, Fairfax and Eagle Rock. Dropping from Division I to Division II are Franklin and South Gate.
