At halftime, Westlake leads Oak Christian, 14-6, in this first-ever meeting of Marmonte League teams that are separated by just a mile.

Westlake struck first with a two-yard touchdown run by running back Tavior Mowry with 10:34 in the second quarter, which capped off a seven-play, 80-yard drive that was fueled by a 45-yard bomb from Warriors quarterback Nick Isham to receiver Nelson Spruce down the right sideline.

Oaks Christian punted on its next possession, but regained the ball when safety Brian Fifita intercepted Isham, which after a personal foul, gave the Lions the ball near midfield. Seven plays later, the Lions reached the endzone with a 23-yard pass from quarterback Richie Harrington to Blair Holiday. The Lions would miss the extra point, though.

Westlake quickly marched 80 yards after the kickoff, 63 of which on a long catch-and-run from Isham to Warriors receiver TreShon Wilson. From eight yards out and with less than a minute in the half, Isham found Spruce in the endzone. After an extra point, Westlake led 14 to 6.
