Girls’ tennis: Granada Hills is top-seeded in City playoffs

Defending champion Granada Hills has been awarded the No. 1 seed in the championship division of the City Section playoffs, which begin Thursday.

The Highlanders, who won the West Valley League, are seeking their third consecutive title. They have a first-round bye in the 12-team draw along with No. 2 Palisades, the Western League champion; No. 3 Woodland Hills El Camino Real, the West Valley runner-up; and No. 4 Los Angeles Marshall, the Northern League champion.

Marine League champion Carson is the top seed in the 16-school Invitational bracket, followed by Los Angeles Hamilton, Los Angeles Bell and Harbor City Narbonne.

The championship division final is scheduled for Wednesday, November 17, and the Invitational final is Thursday, November 18, both at Balboa Sports Center in Encino.
