The National Women’s Law Center has filed administrative law complaints against 12 school districts across the nation, including the Irvine Unified School District, alleging a failure to provide high school girls with equal opportunities to play sports in violation of Title IX.

The Law Center says Irvine has a 10.6 percentage point gap between the percentage of girls enrolled and the percentage of girls who are athletes and that the gap worsened between 2000 and 2006.
