The most amazing statistic of the first half might have been that Venice actually went 8 minutes 35 seconds without scoring.

After taking a 45-0 lead over Locke, the Gondoliers finally showed some class in the moments before halftime by taking a knee in Saints territory instead of trying to add to their overwhelming tally.

Venice quarterback Dean Sarabia has thrown as many passes that have resulted in touchdowns as ones that haven’t, completing seven of eight for 202 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Teondray Caldwell has rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown in six carries.

Locke has fumbled three times and failed to sustain drives. Unfortunately, the bells that ring periodically from nearby Venice classrooms can’t save the Saints.
