It’s been a battle of field goals at Carson, and the Colts are winning big.

Carson’s Nestor Lorente connected on his second field goal, this one from 30 yards, to give the Colts a 6-0 lead over Taft with 9:12 left in the second quarter of their City Section semifinal playoff game.

Taft missed a 42-yard attempt. The Toreadors seemed to catch a break when they recovered a botched snap by Carson, only to fumble the ball back to the Colts three plays later.
