Baseball: Kevin Torres comes out looking sharp

It was an encouraging first inning in the City Section Division I semifinal for underdog Birmingham. Pitcher Kevin Torres had a one-two-three inning and struck out Chatsworth’s No. 1 hitter, Aaron Brown. It’s 0-0 after one inning.

Birmingham got a single from Torres and a walk in the first inning before Chatsworth’s Christian Lopez produced a ground out to get out of the jam. He had started the game with consecutive strikeouts.
