Boys’ basketball: Taft tops Palisades in Westchester tournament

Two of the top teams in the City Section, Woodland Hills Taft and Palisades, faced off Wednesday in a quarterfinal game of the Westchester basketball tournament, and Taft prevailed, 78-73.

Brandon Perry scored 30 points and Compton transfer Anthony January had 18 points for Taft. Kris Yanku added 12 points.

All-City guard Donovan Johnson of Palisades scored 27 points.
