Los Angeles Jefferson is 7-0 and challenging South East (7-0) for the No. 1 seeding for the City Section Division II playoffs.

The Democrats get an opportunity to impress the seeding committee on Friday with a nonleague game against host Arleta (6-1), a Division I team that leads the East Valley League.

Arleta is led by Dejon Coleman, who has scored 33 touchdowns.

Jefferson relies on its Double Wing attack that controls the clock and tries to wear down opponents in the second half.

Jefferson’s best victory so far was a season-opening win over Canoga Park.
