Woodland Hills El Camino Real, a City Section semifinalist last season, evened its record at 5-5-1 on Thursday by rallying for a 6-4 win over San Pedro. Chris Nicholson delivered the key hit, a three-run double in the sixth.

The Conquistadores will start West Valley League play on Monday against Granada Hills and they seem to have found some solid pitchers from their junior varsity team.

Owen Perry, a junior expected to start on Monday, has been El Camino Real’s ace. He’s 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA. But junior Luke Laurita is also highly regarded. He was sidelined recently when he injured the pinky finger on his glove hand. He’s expected back on Saturday and will pitch in the second game next week against Granada Hills.

Nick Snyder went three for three on Thursday for the Conquistadores.
