Su’a Cravens of Vista Murrieta, considered the No. 1 college football prospect in the state for the class of 2013, announced on Wednesday that he had selected USC as his college choice.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Cravens is one of the most versatile players in the Southland. He plays running back and receiver on offense and is a linebacker and defensive back on defense.

Michigan and Ohio State were his other finalists. He indicated last December he wanted to wait until the fall to make a final decision, but the constant attention he received helped motivate him to move up his decision.

He was The Times’ player of the year in 2011 after making 96 tackles, 11 sacks and three interceptions while scoring 20 touchdowns and rushing for 673 yards.
