A goal by Calgary’s Hakan Loob midway through the third period gave the Flames a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers Thursday night at Calgary.

Loob took advantage of a fortuitous bounce inside the Philadelphia zone to score the winning goal at 9:49. A shot by Paul Baxter from near the Flyers’ blue line deflected up off the stick of Doug Crossman and Loob, skating past the defenseman, batted the puck behind goalie Pelle Lindbergh.

Mike Eaves, Dan Quinn and Neil Sheehy also scored for the Flames. Philadelphia scorers were Rick Tocchet, Lindsay Carson and Brian Propp.
