The agency asked the public to comment on the effect on small businesses of the $6-a-month access charge all businesses with more than one phone pay for each line. In asking for comment, the commission’s common carrier bureau said it was interested in hearing proposals on what sort of relief small businesses should get if it can be shown that some adjustment is necessary. Comments are due by Jan. 29 to: Secretary, Federal Communications Commission, Washington, D.C. 20554.
