First Black Chief to Head Miami Police Department

MIAMI —
A 24-year veteran of the police force was named Wednesday as the city’s first black police chief in an attempt to find a leader to deal with Miami’s multi-ethnic population. Clarence Dickson, 50, will replace Herbert Breslow, who retired.
