Action on a bill to increase legislative salaries from $33,732 to $37,l05, effective in December, 1986, was postponed by the Assembly Rules Committee. The delay was requested by Assemblyman Louis J. Papan (D-Millbrae), the bill’s author, who also is committee chairman. “We can stretch this out for a couple of more weeks so you will be able to get additional coverage for this particular matter,” Papan quipped to reporters attending the hearing.
