Oil prices continued to fall on domestic markets.

Sun Co. said it cut its price for West Texas Intermediate crude, the benchmark grade, by 50 cents a barrel to $27. Atlantic Richfield Co. cut its price $1 a barrel to $28, becoming the last major oil company to abandon the $29 posting. The new price posted by Sun was among the lowest of any major U.S. oil firm for the grade.
