‘Proud Bird’ Charges Dropped

Citing lack of evidence, a judge today dropped arson and murder charges against a janitor arrested in a December blaze at the Proud Bird restaurant that killed a firefighter and caused $1 million damage. Municipal Court Judge George Trammell dropped the charges against Jose Jesus Davila, 19, at the request of Deputy Dist. Atty. Bob Morrell.
