Pacific 10 Roundup : Green Scores 26 as Beavers Win, 73-57

A.C. Green scored 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds Saturday to lead Oregon State to a 73-57 victory over Washington State in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Pullman, Wash., extending the Beavers’ winning streak to nine games.

Green scored 20 of his points in the second half, when Oregon State took control of the game after leading, 31-27, at halftime.

Oregon State opened the second half with a 15-4 burst to stretch its lead to 46-31, and Washington State was never able to get closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Steve Woodside and Eric Knox added 14 points apiece as the Beavers improved their record to 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the Pac-10.

Washington State (10-6 and 2-4) dropped its fourth straight. Keith Morrison led the Cougars with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.

Washington 88, Oregon 62--Detlef Schrempf scored 22 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and had 6 assists to lead the Huskies to their win at Seattle. Schrempf showed no signs of the ankle injury that limited him to 14 minutes Thursday night against California. He scored 15 points in the first half as Washington built a 33-21 lead.

The Huskies held Oregon scoreless for six minutes during the first half, when they moved ahead, 18-11.

Washington put Oregon away early in the second half with a 9-0 run to go ahead ahead, 51-28, with 13 minutes left. The Huskies led by as many as 27 points late in the game.

Washington (12-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play) also got 13 points from Paul Fortier and 12 each from Shag Williams and Clay Damon.

Oregon’s Greg Trapp led all scorers with 29 points. But the Ducks (8-10 and 1-4) got only five points from their leading scorer, Blair Rasmussen.
