Castle & Cooke obtained a restraining order.

The order won by the Honolulu-based company in state court under the Hawaii anti-takeover law prohibits Irwin L. Jacobs of Minneapolis from acquiring any more of the company’s stock. The action Friday came one day after Jacobs disclosed that a group he leads acquired just under 12% of Castle & Cooke’s shares and might try to take control of the food company. Circuit Judge Edwin Honda granted a temporary restraining order that bars Jacobs and his group from buying any more Castle & Cooke shares until after a hearing set for Jan. 28.
