Rep. Edward R. Roybal (D-Los Angeles), chairman of the House Select Committee on Aging, introduced a resolution seeking to protect the elderly from increases in health care costs as a result of expected changes in Medicare and Medicaid programs. The resolution calls for a prohibition against any changes in current law that would increase out-of-pocket costs for the elderly or restrict eligibility.
