The Southern California Rapid Transit District, several supermarkets that sell products under their own labels, two billboard companies and some large trucking firms may soon display pictures of missing children, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. Capt. Bill Hinkle said the firms approached the department after Sheriff Sherman Block and Assemblyman Gray Davis (D-Los Angeles) announced last week that Alta-Dena Dairy would print photographs of missing children on milk cartons. A 13-year-old Lancaster girl returned home voluntarily after seeing her picture on a carton during a television newscast.
