However, eight of the Avanti sports cars confiscated in the foreclosure proceeding were returned to the South Bend, Ind.-based company late Friday after the bank and the company “entered arrangements to resolve the differences” that led to the seizure, the bank and Avanti said in a joint statement. Officials of First Source Bank of South Bend obtained a court order Thursday night allowing them to seize the assets of Avanti, the nation’s smallest production line car maker. Documents filed in court by the bank claimed that Avanti was 10 days behind on payments on loans of $2.5 million and $1 million.
