An autopsy has revealed that the badly decomposed body found earlier this week in a shallow grave in an avocado grove near Valley Center contained four gunshot wounds to the head. Coroner’s Deputy Max Murphy said Friday that the body was believed to be that of an elderly man and may have been in the grave for several weeks. Officials have not yet determined the man’s identity or his age. The body was found at 9 a.m. Wednesday by a worker with the Fallbrook Venture Avocado Grove Co., about 70 yards east of Double Canyon Road and two miles south of Couser Canyon Road.
