Services Monday for Wayne G. Steiner
Funeral services will be held Monday for a Corona man who died last week after his car smashed into a tree in the Mira Loma section of northwest Riverside County.
Wayne G. Steiner, 34, was driving south on Hamner Avenue when he crossed the roadway and hit the eucalyptus tree Thursday morning, according to Officer Dick Heatley, a California Highway Patrol spokesman.
Steiner was taken to Riverside General Hospital, where he died about an hour and a half later from multiple chest injuries, Chief Deputy Coroner Carl Smith said. Steiner was not wearing a seat belt.
CHP investigators are not sure why Steiner crossed the road and hit the tree, Heatley said. “There were no witnesses and he was by himself.”
Steiner’s car was traveling about 55 m.p.h., the Highway Patrol estimated.
The service will begin at 1 p.m. at McAulay and Wallace Yorba Linda Mortuary and will be followed by burial in Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton.
