World was selected to fly a Miami-London route.
An administrative law judge for the U.S. Department of Transportation picked the Oakland-based airline over rival applicants Trans World Airlines, Northeastern International and Midway-Air Florida to fly the potentially lucrative route vacated when Air Florida stopped flying last summer. Judge John Vittone cited World Airway’s low fares and transatlantic experience. The decision will have to be approved by the Transportation Department and President Reagan.
