Allergan Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Irvine has sued Barnes-Hind Inc. for an unspecified amount of money, claiming the subsidiary of Revlon Inc. has damaged its reputation by making false statments about its eye-care products to eye doctors throughout the United States. Allergan, which filed the suit Jan. 15 in Superior Court in Santa Clara, said that Barnes-Hind has falsely said Allergan’s extended-wear contact lens cleaner causes eye irritation and deterioration of lenses.
