Comedian Milton Berle, national chairman of the American Longevity Assn., and association president Dr. Robert Morin announced that the organization has joined forces with Lifesaver Medical Record Inc. to raise $20 million for a Center for Longevity Research and Education. Morin said his association of doctors, scientists and celebrity supporters hopes to build a research facility in Los Angeles. Morin added that the proposed facility will fund innovative scientific research in age-related diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cancer and arteriosclerosis, as well as investigate the aging process. Lifesaver Medical Record, which markets wallet-sized microfiche cards containing medical information, donated $10,000 toward the center.
