Four members of a family were found shot to death today in a ransacked home, and police said one of them had been set on fire.

Houston Fire Department spokesman Russell Dunnem said firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after 2:30 a.m. and found the burned body of Henry Lewis, 42, in the hallway. The body apparently had been doused with a flammable liquid and ignited, and a neighbor extinguished the flames, Dunnem said.

Authorities said the body of Mary Lewis, 42, was found in bed. The body of the couple’s 13-year-old son, Byron, was found in another bed, and Henry Jr., 22, was found dead in the kitchen, investigators said. The bodies were discovered by another son, Reginald, 20.

Police said they found no signs of forced entry into the home.
