William Sullivan Elected Head of Mortgage Bankers

William L. Sullivan, vice president of Lowell, Smith & Evers Inc., has been elected president of the Southern California Mortgage Bankers’ Assn., succeeding George E. Francis.

With the election of Sylvia Seymour as SCMBA vice president and president-elect, the organization has paved the way for the first woman ever to head the association. She is a First Interstate Bank vice president in Los Angeles.

Other officers and directors installed with Sullivan and Seymour at a Jan. 16 meeting at the Sheraton Townhouse in Los Angeles, included: Robert H. Craven of Dwyer-Curlett & Co., secretary; Carol Smith, Beverly Hills Securities, treasurer, and Bertram E. Thurner, Security Pacific National Bank, assistant treasurer.

New members of the board of directors are: Don Dollries, Mitsui Manufacturers Bank; Carrie A. Hawkins, Trinity Mortgage Co.; Hal D. Richmond, C. A. Larson Investment Co.; Timothy N. Stevens, Union Bank; Thomas H. Tyrell, Charter Oaks Mortgage Co.; Scott H. Whittle, Crossland Capital Corp., and George E. Francis, the Lomas & Nettleton Co.
