Carl Lewis, who won four gold medals in last year’s Olympics, is entered in the long jump in the Times/Kodak Indoor Games Friday night at the Forum. The first event in the meet is scheduled to begin at 6.
Lewis, the indoor world record-holder at 28 feet 10 inches, will be challenged by a field in which five other jumpers have bettered 27-0--Larry Myricks (28-2 1/2), Mike Conley (27-5), Jason Grimes (27-3 3/4), Mike McRae (27-1 3/4) and Cuban sensation Jaime Jefferson (27-3 3/4).
Calvin Smith, the world record-holder at 100-meters, heads a 60-yard dash field that includes Mel Lattany, Emmit King and two Britons--Donovan Reid and Mike McFarland, who reached the 100-meter Olympic final.
