Fullerton played without its leading scorer and the nation’s No. 5 rebounder, Tony Neal, who failed to show up for the game. No reason was given for his absence.

Fullerton broke a 2-2 tie and led the entire game. The Titans held a 33-19 halftime margin and led by as many as 17 points in the second half.

Center DeWayne Shepard and forward Gary Moeller picked up the slack in Neal’s absence with eight rebounds each. Shepard added 11 points for Fullerton.
