James R. Emshoff was named president of...

James R. Emshoff was named president of Chicago-based Citicorp Diners Club Inc. on Thursday.

Emshoff comes to Diners Club after six years at Campbell Soup Co., most recently as group general manager of its soup unit and head of its newly acquired Casera Foods unit in Puerto Rico.

In addition to other senior roles at Campbell, Emshoff was also a consultant and professor at the Wharton School, where he received a doctorate in operations research.

“Jim Emshoff is an outstanding executive with an excellent track record in both operations and marketing and is ideally suited to lead Diners Club’s ambitious plans for 1985 and into the future,” said Thomas F. Barnum, chairman of Citicorp’s services division.

J. Anthony Young has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Culver City-based Lorimar.

George A. Daniels was named senior vice president-finance and chief financial officer of Republic Corp., Los Angeles.

William J. Scarpino was named a vice president of Collins Foods International Inc., Los Angeles.

James Kelly was named vice president-strategic programs management of Xerox Computer Services, Los Angeles, a division of Xerox Corp.

Robert T. Quinn has been named an executive vice president of Progressive Savings & Loan Assn., Beverly Hills.

Christopher M. McLain, 41, has been elected a vice president of Dublin-based Lucky Stores Inc. McLain is secretary and counsel of the corporation.
