Arizona Shuts Out the Toreros, 26-0
Gar Millay hit two homers and Murray Hicks posted a grand slam and a three-run homer as Arizona defeated the University of San Diego, 26-0, in non-conference college baseball Thursday.
Mike Young (2-1) and Jim McDonald combined for the shutout in the first of three games scheduled between the two schools this week at Wildcat Field.
Millay hit leadoff homers in the second and fifth innings and singled in a run in the seventh. Later in the seventh, Hicks hit a three-run homer to left, giving him seven RBI.
Second baseman Paul Van Stone had three hits as the Toreros fell to 1-1. Arizona improved its record to 8-1.
