Arizona State Routs Fullerton, 16-5
Sixth-ranked Arizona State hit four home runs and collected 16 hits Friday night to rout third-ranked Cal State Fullerton, 16-5, in a nonconference baseball game in Packard Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.
The win improved the Sun Devils’ record to 4-3. The Titans are 2-2.
Arizona State got off to a good start by scoring three runs in the first inning and five more in the second. Titan starting pitcher Damon Allen (0-1) lasted only 1 innings and took the loss. The Sun Devils’ Jeff Roberts (1-0) went seven innings to get the win.
Shortstop Keith Bennett hit a three-run home run for Arizona State and John Fishel hit a two-run homer for the Titans.
The teams play again today at 4 o’clock.
