Man Held in Death of Girlfriend
A man is suspected of having killed his girlfriend and then setting fire to her second-floor apartment in South-Central Los Angeles early today, injuring the woman’s daughter and a neighbor, police said.
The woman, who officials said was in her early 20s, was found dead in the living room of the apartment in the 1500 block of Manchester Boulevard after the blaze that began shortly before 2 a.m. A neighbor was in fair condition at L.A. County-USC Medical Center, and the woman’s 7-year-old daughter was in good condition at Daniel Freeman Hospital. The man, who was not immediately identified, was placed under arrest.
