Naval Training Center officials Monday announced the cause of death of Seaman Recruit Otho Nathan, who collapsed and died last Tuesday after a 2-mile run. Pathological tests revealed that Nathan succumbed to acute respiratory failure due to chronic asthma, pulmonary hypertension and granulomatous lung disease. Nathan, who was from New York State, was in his eighth and final week of boot camp when he died.
